Class 3:

Class 3 Mobility scooters are generally bigger, heavier and more powerful and are not used indoors due to their size.

These scooters can be used on the road as they are fitted with additional safety features. They are fitted with indicators, lights, Hazards warning lights, horn, and mirrors. The top speed by UK law is 8mph (12.9 km/hour) and this can only legally be achieved by driving on the road if it�s safe to do so.

Pavement use is limited to 4 miles/hour (6.44 km/hour) and these scooters will have a switch to limit this.

These vehicles must be registered with the DVLA and you must be at least 14 years of age to drive a Class 3 vehicle.

Class 3 vehicles are not allowed on motorways, bicycle tracks or bus/cycle lanes.
